‘I don’t have a passion?’

78% of the UK population claim that they ‘don’t know what they are passionate about’.

This fundamentally results in you staying in your job for longer than required as you do not believe to be ‘passionate about anything’ worth leaving your job for.

I’d like to be the one that tells you today, that if you do not know what you are passionate about then that is ok.

  1. no-one knows what they are passionate about.

  2. Passion is cultivated. And…

  3. Purpose is more powerful than passion.

The most important thing to remember is to take advantage of opportunity that evokes your curiosity.

Trying something new always helps you find your flow. Elon Musk’s passion for electric cars was nor born overnight. It is something that is built over years through trial and error incorporating

skills, desire, and hard work.

One important thing to remember too is that passion is not always enjoyable. You can be passionate about a sport that gives your injuries but you still do it.

Why?

Because it makes you tick, and you become in your element when you do it.

Passion is the result.

So hopefully this a reminder to stop worrying about what your passionate about and start asking yourself:

  • Where do you find yourself in flow?

  • What is easy for you?

  • What activities make you feel good?

  • And what do you enjoy about your current job?

My advice? If it doesn’t make you tick. Don’t do it. Save your energy for something that gets you out of bed :)
